This is because using something like a video game or torrent will slow down Tor for everybody else as you're using the load designed for people's anonymity to play a video game.
Tor is meant to be used through a browser as opposed to being used like a VPN, hence you shouldn't run video games through Tor because it isn't designed to host games, much like it isn't designed to torrent.
